Hello, my name is Dallas Funk! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me.

I was an early and avid reader, sometimes reading a book a day during summer breaks from school, and have read widely in many different genres. I began writing books and (entirely too long) short stories in second grade. In high school, I started my own writing group and worked on both the yearbook staff and newspaper staff.

By the time I hit college, I had started several novels and joined a play-by-email Pern fanfiction group. I wrote thousands of words a day and learned a lot about character development during this period. Currently, I am in the last semester of the Stonecoast M.F.A. creative writing program, where I will graduate with a specialty in popular fiction. My thesis includes an artist's statement and a 116 page excerpt from Chasing Freedom.

When I am not writing, I can usually be found reading, doing freelance editing, or spending quality time with my two children. Crocheting, photography, the occasional video game, and volunteering at the local library are also common occurances. I have recently added yoga as a means to stay focused and to combat the pain and stiffness caused by fibromyalgia.
